Please Join Us for a Special Viewing of The Saint John's Bible

Villa St. Benedict is pleased to invite you and your members to experience the Heritage Edition of the highly acclaimed Saint John’s Bible when we display it on our campus in November. For anyone with an interest in art history and faith, we would love to provide an opportunity for you to have a special viewing of this rare Bible where it can be enjoyed up close and personal.

The Saint John’s Bible is the first handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine monastery since the advent of the printing press more than 500 years ago. The one-of-a-kind Heritage Edition of the Saint John’s Bible is a full-size fine art edition of the original manuscript created under the direction of Donald Jackson, the artistic director of the original manuscript. Each volume received finishing treatments by hand, and only 299 sets of the Heritage Edition were created.

As a participating organization of the Benedictine Health System, this special opportunity is brought to our community with support from Benedictine Health System and Benedictine Health System Foundation to honor the 125th anniversary of our Sponsor, the Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, Minn.

We are pleased to be able to share this beautiful work of art and faith and hope you can join us. Additional information about our event is available by calling 630-852-0345.

People of Villa St. Benedict

Here are a few newsworthy accomplishments and announcements involving our residents and employees.
What sets VSB apart it's loving, caring, hard-working people who go above and beyond for our residents every day. Our turnover is low, and our staff and residents are family. This month we decided to do a small video series about some of our staff who are known for exceeding expectations, and who have been with Villa St. Benedict a long time. Please enjoy these wonderful people. These are the type of people you want taking care of your family.

It's one of our favorite events of the year!

6 chefs battled it out to get the most votes from residents and staff for their carefully crafted dishes. Everyone did an amazing job and the food was spectacular. Congratulations to our Bistro chef, Alex Sargis who took first place at the annual Top Chef competition for his Chesapeake Bay Crab Cake with Remoulade and Fennel Slaw! Kudos to all the participants in the event who made the program a success for residents and staff.
