Kids' Activities - making musical instruments, garden discovery stations, seed planting, musical parade at 3:00 pm. Organic vegetable seedlings, CSA vegetable shares, foods from local farms, rain barrels, summer kids' program info.
Enjoy a cooking demonstration with different vegetables that you will be receiving in the CSA. Chef Jeremy Derango will be teaching you different ways to cook vegetables you may have never thought of before. Then enjoy a live cooking demo while Chef Jeremy prepares fresh seasonal vegetables with tasting to follow. Chef Jeremy is an accomplished chef with 12 years of cooking in fine dining and country clubs and is currently the Executive Chef at Villa St. Benedict. Join him in a presentation in learning how to approach some of those lesser known vegetables so you can cook like the professionals.
Jeremy has been working in the food industry for over 12 years. Jeremy attended Johnson & Wales in North Miami and in Providence Road Island where he received his Bachelor's Degree. While attending school he worked in all aspects of the food industry from fine dining to country clubs. One chef in particular celebrity Chef, Govind Armstrong who he worked for in Miami taught him about creating memorable dishes and a different way to approach ingredients. Jeremy is currently the Executive Chef at Villa St. Benedict senor living community.
