SHIFT: 30 hours/week: Mondays through Fridays

TYPE: Non-Exempt

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Illinois drivers license and a good driving record. Must be 21 years of age or older. Previous experience as a professional driver with customer contact and in an area working with senior adults would be helpful. Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Coordinate and provide driving for resident transportation needs which includes planned outings. Maintain records including emergency information, vehicle logs, incident reports, etc. Understand and follow all established state laws and VSB policies and procedures for transportation, safety, and emergencies. Train all drivers of VSB vehicles on safety and documentation procedures for each vehicle. Perform a visual inspection and safety check daily on vehicles prior to usage. Assure vehicles are kept safe to drive by coordinating routine preventive maintenance checks. Maintain vehicles - wash, clean interiors and fuel vehicles. Report any mechanical or body work that needs attention as soon as possible. Assist with other errands and duties at VSB.
